There is no replacement for action when it comes to getting things done. All actions have to start somewhere and that somewhere is from a DREAM.

D – Decide to change. In order to get yourself to take the necessary actions to change your life, you must first become clear about what you will no longer tolerate in your business or in your life. Get real with what you must experience before your time is up.
“Decisions are easy when your values are clear.” ~ Roy Disney
R – Recognize the costs associated with living a life having made the decision to change. Whether or not you act on your decision there will be a price you pay. To get what you want, you will have to pay the price of discipline of doing things unsuccessful people are not willing to do. To not go for what you really want and settle with your tolerations presents the price of regret. Many have found the price tag of regret far out ways the price tag of discipline.
“The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” ~ Vince Lombardi
E – Embrace and Envision. Embrace where you are now and what you have learned, become, discovered, done and not done. Own the screw ups and own the triumphs too. It all is what it is. It has made you who you are today. Understand you can only move and progress as you are from where you are. You can’t progress from where you think you should be. Envision where you want to advance towards and how you will need to expand as a person to be able to get there. Notice what you may need to learn; where you may need to move; the work you must commit to doing and do it; what you may need to give up or say “no” to.
A – Align with the resources you need to support your progress. Who are the people that can help you, teach you, direct you, motivate you and hold you accountable to what you decide to go after? Enroll them into your dream. What are the tools and skills you need to get or develop to move you on the path toward what you want? What other capital resources might you need to upgrade, borrow or acquire to get you on your way?
“There is never a lack of resources, only a lack of resourcefulness.” ~ Tony Robbins
M – Move into action if you know what to do next. Move your body if you don’t. Nike, the shoe company. has a slogan which is – “Just Do It.” That’s great if you know what to do. However, often in life we are not clear on what to do next and that can lead to staying stuck. I would like to propose adopting the slogan, “Just Start.” By simply starting we will get feedback from our actions. That feedback will help us know if we are on the right track or if we need to do something different. It will let us know what needs to be done next so we can then do that. If you get feedback that is less than desirable, then say, “so what.” And ask yourself “now what?” The right answer will eventually find you.
Anybody can DREAM. Whether you WILL or not is the question. How you answer the question is up to you. It always has been and always will be up to you.
Make it up, make it fun, and you’ll get it done.
